Natan considered Amelia's question, but was interrupted by Forgath, and turned a bit to add him to the conversation, rather than neglecting one for another.
He considered it a bit. "That depends on your definition of soul. Some consider the mind a soul, and if that's the case, I should have you know I detest brain surgery. Otherwise, mostly physical, it's Healing Priests who deal with the soul as well. Why do you ask?" He queried thoughtfully. He was fairly convinced it was the start of some horrible joke, and he wondered a bit if it was going to end up as a shot at his asexuality -something that most other races had a problem understanding-.
"As for my first house call, that depends on your definition, I suppose. Most plague doctor work is done outside of a clinic, unless it's in Aterra or Cyber-alliance, and even then you might be called out. I've had to re-attach wings in the past. Dreadful business all around, for angels. Severed muscles, broken bones, the emotional trauma that goes with it... it's quite like reattaching an arm. You can do it, but there's no guarantee it will function like it used to, and there's no way to get out of it unmarked in some way or another. Worse is repairing a severed tail on some species, but I haven't had much experience with that." He remarked, though he wasn't sure if that was really an answer to Amelia's question. The quiver in his wings when he spoke of damaged wings said that it was an exceptionally painful process, and not one he enjoyed thinking about.

Amelia stared at Forgath for a while. Again she found herself thinking of his character. He was quiet childish but it was cute on him. Not that she was interested in him but it made him seem innocent. She missed a bit of what the doctor said because of her thoughts but didn't show it. She watched his wing twitch and smiled at it. "Well doctor, seems your job is never boring" she took a bite of the meat and tried not the laugh at the fact that she probably looked like a complete slob right now. It had always been a big thing to look her best in public but in a forest surrounded by people who didn't know her, or disliked her in some way what did it matter. She swallowed the dreadful meat and tore off another piece. She herself had never been big into the whole moose meat. Mostly because she had never thought of eating it. Usually she stuck to fruits or normal kinds of meats.
"Do either of you want to go at it later? You know practice before the big fight?" she was hoping the grave robber would take it up. She wanted to get to know him along with the other two. "I think we should all have a little practice, maybe a tournament? Or maybe some should just practice their skills alone."

Forgath gave Amelia's idea a short thought, then he shook his head. "I don't participate in an tournament, when I can't have some beer afterwards or between the fights. this stuff tends to make me thirsty. Maybe at some other time." Then he torned towards Natan. "Well, I thought about the ' Whoops, that wasn't a good idea,oh well now it happend,so I got a little trauma'-kind of soul. I knew a guy once who was haunted by the mistakes he made in his past and bacause I'm a caring person,I wondered if there is a way to help guys like him. But I doubt something like that can be cut out of the head" he laughed. "Oh well, I wasn't going to interrupt you. I was just curious.Well then,my fellow dragon hunters, it's nap-time,and this tree just looks beautyful. the branches will be like a natural hammock. Please note that I'll kick everyone out who steals that place from me." He bowed deeply. "Master Medic, Mylady. Oh,and please don't snore. The Squirrels are nervous enough and if they go nuts and throw nuts at me,I'd feel very offended."
laughingly,he started climbing the tree and adjusted his wings between the branches,so he wouldn't fall. then he coverd his face with his hat and pretended to sleep.

The Angel fluttered his wings at Forgath's comment, but chose not to reply. The way his wings fluttered suggested perhaps some anxiety, or being put off in some way. He touched the brim of his hat a bit as politely as he could, and took a bit of the meat -no more than was necessary- and picked a tree a ways off from Forgath to settle himself under, tucking his wings around his shoulders. "I will have no interest in fighting." He stated simply. He was very clean -even about how he ate- and only very reluctantly removed his mask to eat.
His eyes were big, round, and a startlingly pale blue that would have given the impression of blindness if not for the dark and comparatively very small pupils. His face was more androgynous than his voice was (to be expected, considering his species) but it still looked closer to male than female. His hair was black and stringy, with a few grey hairs mingled in. He didn't comment while he ate, and seemed quite uncomfortable being seen with his mask off, but made no attempt to retreat from the group any further. It was rather like one who wears a hat all the time finally taking off their hat. The world looks different, and one feels a little more uncomfortable for no real reason. He certainly looked different without the beaklike mask and glowing eyes.

Amelia watched the doctors face as he ate. She assumed it would be one of the rare times she got to see his face. She watched for a while then left so he could ate. She wondered into the forest and looked at the path they might have to travel. It was a forest like any other. Trees, creatures, and all of that. Wanting to do fire but not wanting to give away their positions anymore than the bonfires were she sat down and relaxed. She wanted everything but to relax though. She wanted to dance, and fight, and run around. She wanted to be a child and look around. She had to have control though. So she just sat there and waited for the next time they would get to do something. It could happen tonight or tomorrow or sometime on their journey. Who knew?

Well, that was a failure. As he knew it would be.
Well done. Well done indeed! Once again, you show your incompetence.
He saw how the Hunter dispatched the moose. Impressive, actually. She did take his kill, though. And ruined any chance he might've had to recover the crossbow bolt. And now Amelia is talking to the Doctor and listening intently. In fact, Olmaz noticed she hadn't taken her eyes off him during the whole trip and even while they ate.
You're better off alone anyway. Less of a disappointment to others.
He grabbed a piece of meat and quickly retreated back into the darkness, which seemed to welcome him with open arms.
He finished his dinner in a few quick bites, as he was used to eating while on the run. While licking his fingers, he considered simply leaving the group. It didn't appear like he was much of an asset. The others looked competent enough. They'll probably all be gobbled up easily, but still...
"Do either of you want to go at it later? You know practice before the big fight?"
He only half-listened to her suggestion. Still, it was another chance to impress her.
Why the sudden interest, anyway? You're a loner. She would be a liability. Besides, you'd just embarrass yourself. Again.
Nothing wrong with losing face before being killed, which will happen soon enough. He'd stick around for the tournament. Why not?
He lay down on the forest floor, using his bag as a pillow. As far as sleeping places went, this one wasn't that bad. He'd certainly slept on worse in inns.

The Doctor kept to himself until after he'd finished his food, replaced his mask, and briefly visited a river to clean his hands. He was fastidious, but he would be a terrible doctor if he wasn't. After that, he tucked his wings around himself and rested his hat low. He turned off the lights in his mask, and slept lightly.
By morning, he woke easily and waited for the others to wake as well, keeping himself together and patient. "Good morning, all." He stated quietly and politely. "We should consider battle tactics if we're going to take on a dragon. I propose we send in the sneakiest of our party first, to investigate anything about the dragon. Why it might be here, where its weak points are, whether we even need or want to fight it at all. The two of us who can fly can hover above to keep an eye out, and signal the rest of the group from above if something goes awry, to act as backup. If all goes well, we regroup here and discuss the best way to attack a dragon. My blade would be useless against it, so whatever the case, I'll probably be off to the side to act as healer, unless anyone can think of a better way to help. Are there better plans?" He queried to the group.

Forgath didn't sleep much, but he was used to it. He haven't slept more then four hours per night for almost 98 years. He thought about the fateful night, back then when he was just 49 years old. That night, that changed everything. Fighting a dragon seemed to be a good idea. Either he survived or he died. No big deal.
When the sun started to rise, the others started waking up,too. He decided to stop his sleeping act and jumped from the tree. Natan plan made him smile. The angel really wanted to work with him, even if he seemed to feel uncomfortable in his presence? Now that would be fun, even without him picking on Natan. He already had his own plans in mind, but why not wait? the 'investigation' cound be fun.

Amelia woke up in the forest where she must have fallen asleep. For a moment she thought the group had left but after walking a while, she found the doctor up and talking and Forgath by his side. She smiled and plopped next to the grave robber. "Sounds like that's a good enough plan" she said then yawned. She wanted to go back to bed but she knew that wouldn't happen. She looked at the sleeping grave digger and smiled. He was peaceful with his eyes closed. Usually he had a look on his face like he was annoyed or always thinking. She wanted to wake him but she decided against it. "Does anyone know anything about dragons in the first place?" asking the obvious questions first so that some one wasn't ignored or anything.
It seemed like she was the only one who slept well. She had a good feeling about today. Like nothing could go wrong. Maybe it was also since she could use her fire in the daylight without giving their spot away.

"I know they can have human intelligence or be beastlike in intellect depending, and are nigh on impossible to operate on unless you have an enchanted or diamond blade. Even then it's difficult, their scales are so resistant. Even their insides can be tough, but it's still possible to cut them. They also don't have hollow bones, like angels or fairies. I also know that they operate like cold-blooded creatures despite having warmer blood than most, they are biologically compatible with fire, their hearts are massive, and one can get many kinds of alchemic ingredients from a dragon, but they are terribly rare. Afraid I only know about their biology, though. I hear that dragons from the island regions or from the water are very different, but I have never seen one, that I know of." Natan explained as best he could. It made sense that he would know the basic biology, but he couldn't pinpoint the soft spots of a dragon, and knew nothing of their weaknesses or culture. He could only speak of what he had seen or used. Presumably he'd had to operate (or studied an operation) on a dragon, but that was the extent of his knowledge.
"I couldn't even tell you what kinds of dragons come from what locations, other than that island and water dragons are long and thin. I just assume this one is a black lands dragon because it looks unlike what I've seen in illustrations of dragons before, and nobody really knows anything about the black lands. At least, nobody I've ever met." He shrugged. That made some sense, anyway. He still admitted he had no bloody idea if he was right or wrong, but it was a hypothesis.

when Amelia asked if someone knew anything about questions, Forgath chuckled. "I don't know if you realized it,but actually I am partly dragon. I know the wings and scales aren't that obvious... I guess, I can add some details to Nate's explanation. Well, dragon knowledge: scaly skin, that protects them against blades, so we can't just cut it into pieces. Breathing fire, so we might get incinerated.Immune to heat and cold, so fire or ice would do it no harm. claws and teeth as additional weapons, look out for them. Some dragons are able to channel magic,so it might use some spells on us. Strong; don't try to wrestle it down. Dragons can fly,so it might attack from above.Plus, this one is pretty huge. The last one I fought was just the size of a cat.Still a close call. Dragons are tough beasts and they are not stupid. So, Doc Nate is right,we should check out the terrain before we engage it or all of you will be eaten and maybe he and I,too. So,what do ou think,Nate? Ready to check out what we're going to face?" Forgath laughed. This would defently going to be fun.

"How does one nearly lose to a dragon the size of a cat?" Nate queried to himself, looking like he was imagining the fight. He tried not to let his amusement show, but the shiver in his wings suggested he was concealing his own chuckling. "Anyway, I am ready when our thieves are. Remember, those of us who aren't sneaky will be staying back. I specialize in strength, my scalpels would rattle if I tried to investigate, you know." He pointed out, in better spirits and being quite polite as always. Perhaps his amusement about the catfight with the dragon was a subtle revenge at Forgath for being irritating, but if it was, he didn't let on.

"Well that,my feathered friend, is a story for a night at the campfire. Who knows, if you manage to not get eaten I might tell you about it some night. It actually IS a funny story." Forgath smiled. He ascended above the camp. "So,my sneaky friends:how about some movement? The dragon might get bored and decide to leave.Or it might get hungry and decide to eat us. And both possibilities would be pretty annoying."

Vessa yawned, exhausted.
She'd spent most of the evening working on the massive moose carcass, cutting it into managable portions, preparing the hide, preserving it for later... No-one had offered to help, choosing to eat and banter and leave her working in silence.
And then one of them had wondered off into the night by himself. Foolishness! There were wild beasts and worse, and not a one of them had set up a watch, trusting the fire to keep them all safe. Milk-fed city-folk!
So she'd stayed up all night, patrolling the camp boundaries, and, when she couldn't do that anymore, sat down against a tree to stare blearily into the dark until it turned to dawn.
So, fine. Let them talk strategy and tactics. She wasn't going to contribute anything more until she'd had a good night's sleep. There was only so much she was willing to let complete strangers take advantage of her.
Vessa yawned again, head nodding on her shoulders, and tried to wake herself up with a hot bowl of marrow soup.

Amelia nodded and listened to the doctor and Forgath go back and forth once again. Then she noticed Vessa again. She looked exhausted. She flung a rock at her knee lightly. "Hey you okay?" she asked trying to be friendly no matter how they had acted. "And also I'm not the most stealthiest person but I can help if you need it" she added quickly then went back to the girl. She wondered what she had done with the moose. She hadn't seen her after going into the forest so she had no idea she hadn't slept at all. But it wasn't her felt the girl took the responsibility on herself when she could of asked for help or could have not done it. Its not like they would be attacked by much in this forest with so many people by each other. Maybe she was the one being careless and the girl simply caring enough to be careful.
